Female of the Species ACT Theatre 2010

Skills: Scenic Carpentry, Theatre

Female of the Species by Joanna Murray-Smith was produced at ACT Theatre in 2010 with Scenic Design by Robert A. Dahlstrom. The set was a single room surmounted by an immense cornice which I built but did not get to install. I spent much of the load in for this show working with the props department making copies of a piece of art glass intended to break on stage. The design of the piece required that it be poured flat and then quickly curled into shape after it had set but before it cooled enough to crystalize. We used a material called Picotex for the breakaway glass, it was a finicky process but I enjoyed the challenge.
