I played an April Fools joke on myself a few days ago. This resulted in my website being down for a bit. As you can see it’s back now, but there are some changes coming. First I’d like to say, if you are reading this journal via an RSS feed reader, be sure to click through to read the whole entry, I’ve just been made aware that only the portions of my posts that appear before the jump on the main page are being sent via the feed and there doesn’t appear to be a way to change that using iWeb.
The reason my website went down is that I attempted to move my personal domain to the hosting space I already pay for on MobileMe. The theory was that this would fix some of the RSS feed problems I’ve been having and allow comments in blog posts. Unfortunately I am already hosting a site in that account and the two didn’t play nicely together. When I tried to revert something got mixed up and I only just figured it out this morning.
Nick and I are researching ways for me to get this website to do all the things I would like it to do but still have a relatively user friendly way for me to make journal posts and update content. Our current theory is that we’re going to try and rebuild the site using WordPress, but given our schedules and everything else that’s going on I’m not sure how quickly this will happen. When it does happen however, it seems likely that the RSS feed address will change, I’ll make another post before we send it live so you know to check in for the new feed.
In the mean time, if you are a WordPress wiz and think you might like to adapt my existing website into that format in exchange for some art, don’t hesitate to email me!
